Teens Charged for Rape and Robbery at Mt. Irvine Back Bay

TWO teenagers from Patience Hill have appeared before a Scarborough Magistrates' Court charged with rape, kidnapping, robbery and possession of a firearm.

Akino Sandy and Okira Holder, who are both 19-years-old, are accused of raping a Trinidadian woman on Back Bay at Mt. Irvine on January 2.

The victim, who was not named because of legal reason, was on the beach with her husband and another couple from Trinidad.

The Court heard that Sandy and Holder allegedly threatened them with a firearm and robbed them of cash, cellphones and other personal items. The woman was allegedly raped before the group was kidnapped by the accused and taken to the Crown Point area.

Holder and another teenager, Stefon Samuel, who is also 19-years-old and from Patience Hill, also appeared to face charges of robbery and possession of a firearm after two US male nationals were allegedly robbed of cash on December 30 at Back Bay.

The charges were laid by Woman Police Constable Lenora Clarke and Constable Keron Jonas.
As these charges are indictable the three teenagers, who all appeared unrepresented, were not called upon to plea.

All three men have since been remanded into custody.
