iPads for Parliamentarians: Complete waste.

Speaker of the House
Honorable, Wade Mark

Speaker of the the House Honorable Wade Mark has indicated the intent of Parliament to supply all MPs and Senators with iPads in the near future. This he said was done in a bid to celebrate the International day of Democracy which is celebrated on the 15 September. In an earlier release, Mark indicated that Members of Parliament will be given iPads as they remove, for instance, what is called the laptop which is very cumbersome for Members of Parliament and in your iPad will be all your documents whether it is the Auditor General's report, a report from Petrotrin," He further said, that this is all part of a new project called eParliament which is meant to provide an environmentally-friendly paperless environment in the Parliament.

The purchase of this by all means would run into millions of tax payers monies, with the majority of these ipads being used not for the improvement of the lively hood of our citizens but for the convenience and comfort of the few; the beneficiaries. This announcement comes on the heels of another announcement by our Finance Minister, which stated that austerity measures would be implemented at our next reading of the budget. "

The questions to be answered are would these ipads improve the representation of our representatives? Would it lead to better research and a more inform debate, which in recent years have been reduced to 'childs play' and games.
